Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about our events or how to get involved? This section covers everything from volunteering for big annual gatherings to suggesting new ideas that fit our Welcome to Different identity.

  • Do you offer activities for special-interest groups like youth or seniors?

Yes. From youth laser tag nights to ‘Sittercise’ (the Common Ground version of chair yoga) and free community workout classes for every age, our calendar includes events for every stage of life.

  • If I don't like a group, can I switch to a different one?

Yes. We want every connection to feel natural, so if a group isn’t clicking, you’re free to try another! Whether that’s a casual social group, a faith-based reading group, a welcoming moms group, or one of our sports and fitness meetups. Your next favorite community may be just a group away.

  • Can I help with church events?

Yes! There are plenty of ways to pitch in beyond our weekly gatherings. We often need help with big projects like the community room remodeling, large annual events such as the Celebrate Christmas Concert and BBQ & Blues Festival, and neighborhood outreach like passing out hot dogs during our Hayrides & Hot Dogs fall night. If you’re interested in serving, visit our Get Involved page to see current opportunities.

  • What if I have an idea for an event?

We’d love to hear it! Our Welcome to Different identity is surprising, appealing, and essential, and we’re always looking for fresh ideas that reflect those values, whether it’s something that brings neighbors together in unexpected ways, draws people in with a unique twist, or meets a real need in Middleburg Heights. If you have an event concept that fits, reach out to our team through the Contact page and share your idea. We review every suggestion and consider how it can help us serve the community and live out our mission.
