Here you can explore the beliefs, vision, and values that shape that difference: what we hold true, the hope that drives us, and the guiding principles that make Common Ground surprising, appealing, and essential in Middleburg Heights.

At Common Ground, we know church can sometimes feel intimidating, exclusive, or out of touch, but we’re committed to being different. Our values of love, grace, generosity, and service create a space where everyone belongs, no matter their background or story. We keep things real and laid-back, with music that feels familiar, messages that speak in everyday language, and a community built on authentic relationships. This difference isn’t about style alone, it’s about living out the heart of Jesus in a way that welcomes the hurting, embraces the doubtful, and gives second chances. Here, faith isn’t about fitting into a mold; it’s about finding a home where you can grow, serve, and be transformed by love, because we all were made in God’s image, yet all created to be different.

We’ve heard it said that we are a church for bikers to bankers.....and it’s true. You’ll see all walks of life at Common Ground and that’s the way we like it. We know we’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but we might be yours. All are welcome!
Common Ground is a non-denominational church. We're a church for regular people, those who might have questions about God but feel unsure about traditional church experiences. If you've got doubts, messiness, or feel like you don’t quite fit in elsewhere, you’re welcome here. We know we're not everyone's cup of tea, but we might just be yours!
We believe in the importance of baptism. Baptism symbolizes a believer's commitment to Jesus and His teachings, and is an outward act of confessing our faith in Him. We believe that baptism is essential to Christian discipleship, and it is a beautiful way to proclaim our allegiance to Jesus. Baptism is a sacred and meaningful experience, and we are deeply committed to helping believers celebrate this important milestone in their journey of faith. By celebrating and honoring baptism, we are proclaiming our faith in Jesus and our desire to serve Him and others.
Our worship services typically last for about 60 minutes. The first 15 minutes or so are live music and worship followed by a sermon and and a closing song. Don’t be shy to linger a little longer after the service - we have free coffee and snacks and it’s a great time to talk and make new friends.
