At Common Ground, we strive to create an atmosphere of acceptance and belonging for all who come through our doors.
We believe that everyone should feel welcome and accepted, no matter their background or beliefs.
We are committed to creating a safe and welcoming space for all who come to experience the wonder of Divine Love and Grace.
“But God does not take away life, but devises ways in which the banished person may return.”
2 Samuel 14:14
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
“Love is the most excellent way”.
The Apostle Paul
We are committed to loving God and loving others, and to be known for our love for one another.
People grow best in a community that is:
Founded in God’s GRACE through Jesus Christ,
Honed by embracing CHALLENGE,
Evidenced by ACTION,
Fueled by HOPE.
We are called to serve our community and those in need, through both physical and spiritual acts of love and kindness.
We strive to be wise managers of the resources God has blessed us with, using them to meet the needs of the church and community. You can give without loving, but you can’t love without giving.
Life can be confusing. We want to help. We gather regularly in smaller groups to develop friendships, receive and provide care, and grow in our faith.
Motivated by Mission. Focused on Giftedness. United in Excellence.
We exist to facilitate the Love of God becoming the primary influence of our lives.
Leaders Lead, Solve Problems, and Develop People.
We don’t do church alone, we include people in all we do.
We believe the powerful transforming truth of God is relevant, accessible, and personal.
Life is Better: Connected, Growing, Serving, and Giving.
Inspired by the Personality of Jesus, guided by the Purpose of Jesus, empowered by the Presence of Jesus. We continue His model to seek the lost, help the hurting, and heal the broken.
The life, death, resurrection, and teachings of Jesus Christ are the core of our community.
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error.
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to become the Savior of the lost world.
We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.
We believe all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving him and by making him known to the lost world.
